WordPressのリビジョン機能をコントロールする方法

Wordpressで標準のエディタを用いて記事を書いていると勝手にリビジョンと呼ばれる記事のバックアップデータがDB内に残されてしまう．Wordpressのauto paragraph機能とこのリビジョン機能はWordpressの傍迷惑な余計なお節介機能の代表的なもので、私も含めて多くの人が困っているようだ．
